Palmira Pérez Nació en Guadalajara (Mex) y radica desde hace tiempo en el Sur de Califonia.

Su carácter, amor por su trabajo y servicio a la Comunidad latina radicada en los Estados Unidos le distingue.

Palmira Pérez es graduada en Derecho egresada de la Universidad de Guadalajara y Miembro de la Asociación Nacional de Periodistas Hispanos (NAHJ) en Estados Unidos.

Con 20 años de experiencia en la televisión, tuvo a su cargo el noticiero local de Kwhy por 16 años. Ademas de conducir especiales desde el extranjero nominados al premio Emmy. Tambien Transmisiones como el Desfile de las Rosas en Pasadena California por los últimos 10 años.

Presentadora de Fiesta Broadway en Los Ángeles, ha participado en la Maratón de Los Ángeles en Telemundo 52, Programas especiales de elecciones,Fiestas patrias y segmentos diseñados como “Manos a la Obra” en el cual realiza por un día diferentes trabajos para mostrarle a la comunidad lo que conlleva sobre salir en este país.

En los últimos años ha participado al aire en programas de ayuda a la comunidad “Aquí a las 4” y “Así esta el mundo”. También mantuvo al tanto a la comunidad Angelina de los acontecimientos de la guerra en Iraq con un programa especial diario durante el transcurso del inicio de esa guerra.

From covering national elections to becoming the face of the Tournament of Roses, Fiesta Broadway, Lakers and Dodgers Parades and the Los Angeles Marathon, Palmira Perez is considered one of the most recognized and influential Hispanic journalists.

Pérez is journalistic work has earned her four Golden Mike Awards®from theRadio & Television News Association of Southern California(RTNA). The Golden Mike Awards®are Southern California’s most prestigious broadcast journalism prize. Perez has won two for Best Newscaster in Southern California, a third one for her exemplary coverage of the 2003 Colima earthquake, and a fourth one for her broadcast on the 2004 death of Mexican singer and songwriter Chalino Sanchez.

With 20 years of television experience in Mexico and the United States,she is currently the sole female anchor of the 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. newscasts on Spanish-language station KWHY Channel 22. For the past 13 years, her broadcast is the highest rated among males 18 to 49 age range from all the other Hispanic TV newscasts in Southern California.

Palmira pérez has interviewed some of the world’s most influential figuresincluding PAN Presidential candidate Josefina Vazquez Mota, VicenteFox and Jaime Labastida. She has also interviewed iconic figures suchas singers Facundo Cabral and Gloria Trevi. In March 2012 Perez wasthe the main celebrity guest in the celebration of the life of Cesar Chavez.

In June of 2012 it was Palmira Perez who made the historic announcement that KWHY-TV Channel 22 will be the flag ship station for the new Fox Spanish language network “MundoFox”.

Here extensive charity and mentoring work includes volunteering her timeto The Mayte Prida Foundation, Latinas Lighting the Wayfor the Los Angeles Unified District, Padres Contra El Cancer,The Girls Today Women Tomorrow Foundation and The Boys & Girls Club among many others.

Pérez was born in the in the City of Guadalajara, Jalisco. She has a LawDegree from the University of Guadalajara. She is a Member of theNational Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) as well as the President of the Student Association University of Guadalajara in LosAngeles.

She is a member of the IME Advisory Council (CCIME), which functions as advisors and counselors to the  Institute of Mexicans living in the United States.
